    Default Bodycount demo

Who has played the demo for this? For those of you who have, what did you think of it? Personally, I thought it was pretty bad. To save myself the trouble of simply repeating things I just said a few minutes ago, I will copy/paste what I posted in another forum:

AI is the worst thing about this game. The graphics are just fine. I was perfectly content playing games with smiley faces and letters as a kid, so I really don't care if a game isn't visually stunning. And I don't mind the "leaning" all that much. It doesn't make sense that you can't walk around while zoomed in, but it didn't get in the way of me playing the game. I normally just use it when stationary anyway, so the leaning is quite nice to have, although I really think they didn't need to make the sacrifice. If it stays as is, a lot of people will have to get used to it lest they want it to put a damper on their running and gunning.

The little ammo/health/whatever circles that drop are pretty annoying. Once you're maxed out, they litter the screen like the Gay Pride Parade or Mardi Gras just rolled through town. It reminded me too much of Borderlands, which is rarely a good thing. Also, it bugs the hell out of me that you can't see the character's hands most of the time. When reloading, a new magazine just magically floats into the gun. And the knife is magical too; it can cause brick walls to crumble with the greatest of ease.

But like I said, the AI is the worst part. I would sit there and snipe guys (with a machine gun, mind you) while their buddies just sat idly by. Half of the time, they only responded if I shot directly at them and didn't kill them right away for whatever reason. If I was far enough away from them (to the point of my crosshair not turning red), I could even hit them and they would just stand there as if nothing happened and then subsequently fall dead. I don't mind that the enemies and the boss were ridiculously easy to kill because really, I don't need much of a challenge in order to enjoy myself. But it might be nice if they acted as more than just sedentary targets. If I wanted to shoot fish in a barrel, I would...well, I'd shoot fish in a barrel.

I had no expectations going into this because I only knew the game by name and I had completely forgotten who the developers are. But even so, I have to say I'm disappointed by the production values. For the sake of the customers, I hope the QA team is hard at work on this one.

EDIT: I just realized that this is supposedly coming out this month, which seems unreal considering the lack of polish. If that's the true release date, this has most likely already gone gold. If not, they need to delay it drastically.
    So, what are your thoughts?

I played through the demo a couple of times and really didn't care for it at all. The leaning thing bothered me a little but I also was able to use it to my advantage a couple of times. Visually, I thought it looked good. It wasn't spectacular but it wasn't that bad. I agree that the AI was terrible. I can't remember playing an FPS with such retarded enemies.

The crappy thing is that I tried it out because of something I read that went along the lines of, "this game will forever change how you view FPS games." Unless they think people will forever think less of the FPS, then they might be right. But I don't think that was what they were going for.

What concerns me is that the developers chose that as their demo. They probably worked for a while making sure they came out with something that will try and connect with people. And that is what was released.

Yeah, exactly! If this is their showpiece, then I'm concerned about the overall game. I think I will at least give it a chance, though. But as for changing how I view FPS games...not going to happen. From what I've seen, this seems to be an incredibly generic game in what is probably the most generic game genre I've ever played (aside from sports).
