If Amazon ever sells it for $15 again, I would suggest jumping on it. It's worth it just to have the main game. When it comes to the DLC, you should pay as little money as possible. Playing it just made feel sad and empty. Heh.

Would of played more but I got work in the morning which is also the reason why I haven't been on the forums much lately but hey I'm getting paid wooo lol. I have Thursday off and I get out at 5 on Wed so Ill be playing LA Noire pretty much all night.

Awesome, I'm glad to hear you like it so much. I've heard nothing but good things so far. I picked up my copy a few hours ago (got there right when they were about to lock the door). I really want to play it, but I'm waiting until I get the other DLC. I pre-ordered from GameStop and WalMart so I can get both of their bonuses and then I'm going to trade one copy (or sell/trade it in for money). If I can get at least $40 or a different new game of the same value, then I'll be happy. I wouldn't normally do this, but I didn't pay anything out of pocket for one copy, so I figure I don't have much to lose.
I should be able to play by this weekend. Can't wait!

Yeah I'm also quite curious. This looks to be an interesting game but I really can't tell if this would be the type of game that I'd get into as I'm pretty ADD when it comes to gaming nowadays. I need constant stimulation of some kind and this might be too slow paced for me.

You should give it a try its really an amazing game. The interrogations get intense and somewhat of a new experience that no game has given me.

I can't rate the game because I haven't quite played it yet, although my second copy (plus DLC) has shown up, but I'm really impressed with the gameplay I've seen so far. I'm the opposite of you, Statik...I can play really slow-paced games and be completely engrossed as long as it's interesting. Games take me a long time to beat because I like to explore every little nook and cranny, and it looks like I'm going to have a blast with this one. I can't say whether or not you'll enjoy it, but you should definitely give it a chance. Perhaps watch some gameplay footage or even rent the game for a night (if you have a Redbox nearby, you can rent it for $2). This definitely looks like it won't be a full-on action game, but I've seen an exciting shootout or two.

Started playing this last night and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet. It's basically Mafia II, but of course focusing on a detective instead of a criminal. And there's a heck of a lot more dialog. I can see why some people think the game is boring, but I do mostly enjoy it so far. I'm totally over the whole roaming-through-a-city-for-hours thing, so I'm immensely grateful for the option to make my partner drive. I rarely feel the urge to drive myself, especially when the cars are so over-responsive.
I like that there are random crimes to help set the pace, but for me, the detective work is the best aspect. It's super super easy so far, though. Maybe it's becaue I've played so many point-and-click adventures, but it only takes a couple of minutes to sweep an area and find all of the clues, and I've already figured out that I shouldn't follow the main objective until I've checked out the other areas first. The interviews are also very simple. Somebody makes a statement and while you decide whether they're lying or not, they sit there biting their lip, looking around nervously, and practically begging you to catch them. It's not nearly as natural as I was expecting. I do enjoy the face models, though, even if they look a bit creepy at times. Sometimes they go blurry or their eyes will show through their eyelids and it gives me the creeps. Heh.
My least favorite part of interviewing is when you Doubt what a person is saying. You'll be having a nice, calm conversation with someone, but as soon as you hit that button, Phelps just starts yelling and acting like he's interrogating a terrorist. It's a very unrealistic way to coax the truth out of someone. Surprisingly, he's much calmer when you accuse someone of lying. I thought he'd be going all Phoenix Wright on their asses, but he just calmly says "Yeah, that's great, but I know you're lying" and waits for the obligitory "Oh? Then why don't you prove it with a piece of evidence written down in your handy-dandy notebook?" It just really, really irks me. The only time the dialog feels natural is when people are telling the truth.
But when it's all flowing together properly, it works really well. I don't think this will be a game of the year like I was expecting (we'll see), but I'm glad I bought it. Also, keep in mind that I'm not very far into the game, so my opinion may change or evolve as I go along.
Oh, and kudos to anyone who caught the Blue's Clues reference.
