Maybe if we changed the comment section below each article into a forum thread link, then there would be more discourse in the forums, but that may come at a cost in total activity because of the additional requirement to sign up in the forum.

It's really tough sometimes. For instance, there are two forums I used to visit almost everyday. They had the same kinds of features and content, but one was far, far more popular. Not really sure why, but people were drawn to one more than the other. We never could figure out what the deal was.

Does the site get more active with the release of big games and things like E3? I am really only active in sports forums which die in the offseason so I'm wondering if it similar here.
It isn't really the fact that nobody is clicking the link. It is the fact that probably the forums isn't that "diverse" in a way. Just ponder on that for a second.
