    Default People are crazy

People on eBay are already bidding up to $300 on the 3DS despite the fact that you can still pre-order it from almost all major retailers. And in doing so, you will most likely receive sooner than you would by buying it on eBay! What the hell is wrong with people? The Kinect was one thing, but this hasn't even started to sell out yet because Nintendo shipped out a TON of units. Hoarders in Japan are losing money because the 3DS is still available on store shelves, so nobody's buying it second-hand on the grey market like they normally do with new consoles. I would expect the same thing to happen here, but I guess Americans are just as dumb as the rest of the world thinks we are.

Thanks to the number of units available and the fact that this is shipping nowhere near the holidays, I think the 3DS will still be readily available for a couple of months. And people will continue to pay more than its worth anyway. Gah, people are idiots.

On a lighter note, I've already got my first two 3DS games: Bust-A-Move Universe and Super Monkey Ball 3D. They ended up getting here before the handheld itself, which should hopefully show up in a couple of days. The cases are so skinny compared to the DS ones, but I like them. While I don't care much about the "green movement", it's nice to see Nintendo making these more eco-friendly. They use a lot less plastic and they finally got rid of the stupid warning pamphlets that used to come with every game. I do think they should've kept the cases black, though, and I also prefer having the logo on the left side. And I don't like the new shape of the cartridges. I understand why they changed it, but it looks silly and now they don't fit in my Gear Monkey cases (these things are amazing). But overall, I'm excited.

As soon as I have the cash, I'm going to get me one of these bad boys:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004OQS8UK/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Then I'll be able to carry my GBA, DSi, 3DS, PSP, games, and accessories all in one nice, neat little package.

people are nuts, there's no reason to buy it at Ebay, Im sure you could walk into most stores on the release day and get one.

lol eBay hoarders make me laugh. Sure you can turn a quick dollar but then stuff like this happens and backfires. Happened to my friend too when he bought like 6 PS3's at launch and couldn't sell them for the inflated price he was looking for.

How much was your friend trying to sell them for? I remember seeing them go on eBay for up to $1000US. Though, when you think about it, I guess that's not terribly impressive. Tickle Me Elmo sold for more than that when it first came out. Heck, some Beanie Babies used to sell for almost $2000 and they didn't even do anything. I really should've sold my collection when I still had the chance. Now I'm stuck with worthless toys that I don't want.

Anyway...I have no doubt that, like Mike said, people will be able to just walk into stores tomorrow and buy it. I'm sure some stores will sell out, but most of the people who really want it have already preordered it online or (for some reason) at GameStop. I can't figure out why people still don't buy most of their games from Amazon; it's cheaper, tax-free, S&H-free, and you get discounts. They're basically giving me $65 just for buying it! And aside from Netflix, it's the fastest shipping I've ever seen, even faster than Newegg (and they're in the same state as me).

I can't remember how much he was trying to sell them for. It was under $1000 Im pretty sure though. And speaking of Beanie Babies, one of my friends' parents has a basement FULL of Beanie Babies. It's really creepy actually. We play poker at his house quite a bit and there's just walls and walls full of Beanie Babies is pristine condition (in their own individual clear cases). I'm talking hundreds and hundreds of them lol. Shoulda sold all those while they were still worth something.

It's weird that your friend had trouble selling those; must've just been bad timing or something. All of my Beanie Babies are in tubs where they can't creep people out. I'm not sure how many I have, but it's probably around 200 or so. When I was a kid, some of them were actually pretty cool, but most of them were for profit. Too bad they're worthless now, but we made a few thousand dollars by selling some, so at least we didn't lose any money. And now I have free presents to give out at kids' birthdays.

We've also got a bunch of Bambinos, which are just bears with different baseball players' names/numbers on them. We were official retailers of those, but they didn't sell too well, even during the beanie craze. Puffkins did well, though. And so did Meanies, but I've never been able to part with them. Anyway...sorry, I'm sure you have no idea what I'm rambling on about at this point.

As for 3DS...Amazon and all of the major retailers still have plenty of copies left, just like I expected. I hope those people on eBay are kicking themselves right now.
