On second thought, it kinda sucks because I bought Battlefield 2 a couple months ago, so it feels like I wasted thirty bucks. If I were just a little bit more patient, I would have been able to save some money :S

I'm in the beta too, although I haven't tried it out. I'm actually not even sure yet if my computer will be able to run it.

Since we're on the subject...I'm also in the Darkspore and Dragon Age Legends betas. Darkspore doesn't run well for me, so I don't have much of an opinion on it yet. But I can say that DAL is definitely better than Dragon Age Journeys.

Masni I do hope you know that posting beta codes on a forum is in direct violation of the Terms and Regulations. If DICE wanted to they could sue your ***, so be careful. The closed beta can not even be discussed outside their own forums so do not bother writing anything about it or G3 and yourself can be sued to holy hell.

The worst they can do is send a C&D and ban you from playing. While they technically could sue if they wanted to, it would be of little consequence. They would be wasting tons of money just to out you as someone who can't be trusted. This is especially true because of the free-to-play nature of the game. If they can't prove that they have lost money as a result of someone leaking information, they won't be rewarded anything. That is why developers/publishers don't sue over broken NDA. And I imagine that this is why even Microsoft didn't sue over the Full House Poker leaks, which came with the strictest NDA I've ever encountered (we weren't even allowed to tell people that the game existed, and we were instructed to not play around other people). Sure, it's technically illegal, but so is sodomy (in most states) or eating a grape at the grocery store.

That's not to say that it's okay to break NDA's, of course. It should be a moral obligation to uphold them because it is what you promise to do in exchange for a service. And just because they probably won't sue, remember that it doesn't mean they can't. If they had any way of proving lost revenue, they'd sue you in a heartbeat and they would win. Embargoes, on the other hand, aren't legally binding in the slightest because no agreement takes place beforehand...but I firmly believe that they should be respected as well.



EDIT: For what it's worth, I don't think posting beta keys is in direct violation of the NDA. It says that you can't give people access to the game, but I believe they are referring to your own personal copy. It says nothing about distributing beta keys, so I think it's okay. What I find interesting is that, according to the NDA, if someone were to leak everything about the game to all of the popular gaming sites (who then proceeded to post about it), then everyone would basically be free to talk about it openly.
