Marvel vs Capcom 3

So it's out, we've had some time to marinate with it, what do you all think? Was it worth 10 years? Who's your team? Discuss!

I've played a ton of player matches and about 40 ranked and here's some things I noticed that I can think of off the top of my head.

-level 3 X-Factor possibly too OP'd
-Sentinel is still god-tier (...and I still use him lmao)
-No spectator mode for Lobby mode is dumb (Seth Killian said it's coming in a patch sometime though)
-Very balanced roster. Only seen a few Storm and Magneto users and they definitely haven't gotten any weaker so the rest of the cast must have gotten stronger. Only useless characters seem to be Viewtiful Joe, Rad Spencer and MODOK.
-Even though I suck with him there are some nasty Wesker players out there. Some Zero players have some unexpectedly crazy rush down too with that sword of his. He could be the new Strider with all his sword combos

My starting team is Doom, Haggar and Sentinel.

Its been a long time since I played Marvel Vs Capcom, but I always used Spiderman, Ryu and either Wolverine or Cyclops. Haven't played 3 yet, no PC version

First please give us Spectator mode in lobbies to not ship it with a game of this magnitude was just dumb.

SENTINEL! How I hate him soooo. All my ranked loses have been to someone spamming his assists.

Spencer is actually a great character I've been learning how to combo with him and some of his later combos into Hypers are lethal but I wont advise anyone using him alot he gets irritating at times and his attacks are rather weak.

I am a nasty Wesker player lol I use him in all my teams I have finished all his Missions and I trained with him for hours lmao. The things he can do omg.

My team so far is Wesker, Dante and Trish

Or Wesker, Zero and Deadpool.

Or if I feel like pissing off friends Wesker, Dante and Deadpool.

I'm not that great overall in this game compared to other fighers like SC4 but I'm getting better and once I perfect Wesker oh man I'm going crazy.

Wesker is the biggest pain in my *** because he destroys my Sentinel lol. And yeah I take that back about Spencer, I played this guy a bunch of times in ranked today who whooped me everytime with Spencer and Hulk assist. He'd spam the assist and when I went to dodge it or jump over he'd grab me with that ridiculous reach and combo me. I couldnt figure out how to defend against it and matchmaking kept putting me up against him lmao

I fought someone with another interesting strategy today where he saved 5 meters and X-factor and with Phoenix as the last character, died, turned into Dark Phoenix and level 3 X-factored. She became so strong! Craziness!

And yeah to be honest, I'm not the greatest either. I would only say Im an intermediate player at best. And outside of my main 3 and a couple of others Im pretty useless lol

I'm still a bit reluctant to play this. MvC is great, but I know I'll suck, so I don't think I'll get much fun out of it. Might just have to rent it sometime.

Ah nice! I just played it the other day and I have to say I'm impressed. It lived up to MvC 2 in a lot of ways, and dropped the ball in others (No Cable?) but its really fun.
My team, for now, is
X-23 (insanely fast)
Iron Man (good guard with uni beam)
and Thor (powerful as all hell)
I'm not great, but I can put up a fight.

Yeah there were some odd exclusions from the roster. No Venom? Cable? Mega Man? Cyclops? They've said that some were left out because of how similar they played to other characters but still, these chars really should have been in. My fear is that they'll be DLC and make us pay for them.

That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. In fact, what does surprise me is that I haven't seen it announced yet.

Tourney and grand finals

In total, there's like 3 or 4 hours of footage there and to my own surprise, I actually watched it all over a week! lol The commentary (especially when James Chen and UltraDavid take over) is super interesting and watching the best fighters in the U.S. go at it at such a high level so soon after release is amazing. I even picked up a couple of combos and tips too

I saw a theme where each player would have either Sentinel, Magneto or Storm. Is there really that much of a lack of variety in the character roster?

Anyways, holy crap. I'm not even going to touch that game seeing as how impossible it will be to even try to get on that level.

Sentinel, Mag and Storm were among the god tier in MvC2 so people were perhaps used to them. But also it could be the same player because most pros usually stick with the same team or two and if you skip ahead or watch one of the other parts (or the other week) the same players play with different characters. Sent comes up alot causes he's so damn good but there's good variety both in the videos and online. After watching them all, I did see alot of Dantes, Sentinels and Trons in those videos though.

I would absolutely hate to play with those guys. I like the easy games like Soul Calibur and Dead Or Alive. Ha ha. I just can't remember all of those different combos, which is an important part of MvC because so many of the attacks take up the whole damn screen.

Here's another good one of the winter brawl torny, J Wong is a monster hands down best MvC player (He's the guy using She Hulk). Check him destroying Sentinel lmao.
