Cartoon Wars - Iphone
Anyone else played this game on the Iphone. Its sorta like a defense game, but a little different. You have to take over the comps castle while defending your own. Basically you try to create enough units to overwhelm the comps units. Its a fun game, im on lev 108 and its hard as hell now. Theres no ending, but i don't think its possible to go farther then another level or two. Took me an hr to beat lev 107. I think its $1, well worth it.

The only game I've purchased is GTA Chinatown Wars. That Free App A Day thing that Chris posted in one of my threads a while back is a lifesavor! They even have an app! And then I found another one where they release Open Feint games. Between those two apps, I've gotten like 20 noteworthy games for free! I've kinda had enough of Tower Defense games though. There's way too many of them out there. Zombie Smash is fun as hell though lol.

I never really liked tower defense until Plants Vs. Zombies. Even now, I still don't like most of them, but there are a select few that are pretty fun. I'll have to check this one out if I ever get an iPhone.

I'm glad you're getting some use out of it. Keep in mind that there is also Free App Calendar, which works the same way. Between these sites, I've acquired over 200 games (valued at over $300). I don't have an iPhone, but I can't imagine passing up such good deals, just in case I ever get one. And if I do, I'll be set!

I love open feint, I got around 30 free games of theirs and most of them are great. Most of them have achievements too lol makes them a little more fun.
But I haven't played Cartoon Wars and I only bought one game for my iPhone and that was Mass Effect Galaxy.

Yeah I check that one out every day too but it's not nearly as good as the other two. Out of all my games and apps that I've downloaded since you've told me about these sites, I've probably only kept 2 from freeappcalendar. The vast majority of my high quality games come from the other two.
Side note, Samurai Way of the Warrior that was out yesterday or the day before on freeappaday is the shiznit! New addiction!

Unfortunately, I currently have no way of knowing which games are better. Heh. But I'm glad to hear that Samurai is a good one; just downloaded that yesterday.

lol funny that you download them and dont even have an Iphone. Do you have an Ipod Touch at least? Most games can run on both.
But yeah, alot of the games that are released on any one site are fun for a bit but then I end up deleting them a week or two later to save space (since I use it as an MP3 player too) so I only keep the high quality ones or ones that I'd likely return to in the future. But having all three on hand means that almost every other day, at least one of the three free games will be keep-worthy. I still have a list of paid games that I'd like to purchase but I just can't justify it when there's so many great games coming out for free through these sites lol. Hell I haven't even finished Chinatown Wars yet and that came in at a hefty $10, relatively expensive for an Iphone game. Too busy playing free games lol.
EDIT: Also Yank, how's Mass Effect Galaxy? I just finished my 4th run through of ME2 and Im kinda jonesin for more ME lol.

Nope, I can't afford these fancy gadgets. I mean, I could save up for one, but I currently don't have much of a need; I just want one for games. I'm hoping to eventually come across an old beat-up iPod/iPhone that somebody doesn't want anymore (longshot, I know). I can get an iPhone for about $80 through AT&T, but it requires a $30-a-month data plan, which is insane. I already pay over $40 for phone service; I'm not going to kick it up to $70+. They need to make a special barebones iPhone/iPod for guys like me who just want to play Plants Vs. Zombies. Heh.
And yes, I realize it's odd that I download the games despite not having a way to play them. But I am currently working under the assumption that I will someday get an iPhone or iPod Touch (or maybe even iPad). I don't know how I will acquire one (Lockerz hasn't been fair to me lately), but when I do, I will have tons of games for it that I didn't have to spend any money on. I'd rather get them free now instead of paying for them later, you know? Besides, I love free stuff. And for whatever reason, I seem to love getting stuff I don't actually need (especially if it's free). This is apparently part of my Irish heritage.

Well the Ipod Touch is basically a barebones Iphone. The new one will probably have the Ipad processor and wont have the contract that's required for the Iphone. But Im sure you can find an older one for cheap. They're giving away one of the older models whenever you buy a Macbook so I know a few people who have one and doesn't use it.

Mass Effect Galaxy is a good game. I got it while waiting for ME2 and it lead up greatly. Its fun and I believe its cheaper now and I would say worth it. Since your a hardcore fan aswell your gonna love it. I think they have a lite version but not sure.

Does it add to the story at all? I know the gameplay isn't standard ME fare but that's fine with me as long as the story adds something significant to the universe.
EDIT: Also, just read a couple of quick reviews in Itunes. Is it as choppy as people are saying? I have a 3GS and more than a couple of people said it slowed down alot even with that. Is it just another case of people blowing things out of proportion?

It slowed down on me maybe 2 times and I also have a 3GS and the cuple of my friends that have it haven't had much trouble with it also. As for story it shows more background to Jacob's and Miranda's story other then them not much else. I checked and I didnt see a lite thought there was one but its now $1.99 I dropped $5.99 on it and thought it was worth it.

Yeah I'd be a little hesitant to drop $6 on it but $2 is fine by me. I'll probably pick it up when FAAD and Open Feint go on a dry spell of free games cause the last couple of weeks they've been on a roll with quality stuff lol

Surprisingly, iPod Touch still goes for quite a bit. I usually see broken ones going for no less than $65. I'd consider buying one in good condition at that price, but not a broken one...especially when these things are a huge pain to fix. I'll keep looking around and hopefully I'll luck out and find a decent deal. Maybe I can buy one off of a little kid or something. Ha ha.
