What's your current obsession?
So, what game has been sucking up most of your time lately? Anything that you are currently addicted to? I've been playing a lot of N+ on Xbox 360 and DS (Toys R Us had it for $11)...despite how frustrating it is, I just love that game. I beat the PC version at least twice a few years back before any retail versions were released, but I still keep coming back for more. And I'm thrilled that I will now be able to play it in the hospital waiting room.
However, the time I spend on that pales in comparison to Trash Panic for the PS3. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and hadn't really touched it, but I started playing the other night and I can't put it down. As far as I can tell, there seem to be only 5 levels (each about 8-10 minutes long), but it's so freakin' hard that I can't even get past the 4th level yet. I keep trying, though, because it's so fun. My only issue is that there's no Continue; once you leave the game, you have to start over. But once you beat a level, you unlock it for Quick Play. There's not a lot of content, even for only $5, but it is well worth the money and it will keep you busy (I haven't even unlocked any trophies yet). Good stuff.

My current obsession is definitely NCAA Football 11. I've been playing it nonstop since it came out, and I'm in love. The game is amazing, almost on par with legend NFL 2K5, which has been the king of football games since 2K lost the rights to use the NFL license. What I'm really addicted to is Road to Glory, and in simple terms it can pretty much be called the football RPG. You create your character, choose position, height, weight, tendencies (for example, QBs can be throwing or running, or balanced), and appearance. Then you compete in the high school playoffs, and since most towns in the US above a certain population are in the game, you can usually create your high school in the game. After that, you choose a college to attend and have to succeed in practice to earn the starting position. One of my favorite things about it is the fact that you only control your player, everybody else is AI controlled. I'm currently in my fourth year of college with the QB that I made, and I plan to create a RB after this.

At the moment i went back to ME2 to do the DLC and my definitive paragon run through and I'm hooked all over again. I read one of the books this summer too so it kinda put me in the mood already.
Also this game called Freakin Inkies on the iPhone.

Well, I've never been a fan of football games (I used to play the first NFL Blitz, but that's it), but that mode certainly sounds cool. Although I'll probably never play this, I like the idea of controlling only my character and not having to worry about the rest of the team.

I still need to play that! I bought it over a month ago, but I want to finish Borderlands before starting it up. The only problem is that Borderlands is taking forever.

I've been playing Osmos on the PC, small physics indie game, but Im in love with it. A tiny bit like Katamari where you're trying to make your ball bigger and just as much fun.

That Borderlands finally decided to buy the last 2 DLC and Im all up Borderlands all over. Also 2 of my gears buddies finally decide to buy the game and DLC aswell so now Im playing with a full 4 people instead of before where it was just me and 1 friend and that game is truly the best co-op game with 4 people. Plus the Secret Armory DLC is freaking amazing and fun.
After that its also UFC 2010 being a big fan and follower of UFC for years this game got it right. If your a UFC or MMA fan this game will fit right at home. Career is a blast finished it as a Heavyweight now doing it as a welterweight for fun.

Interesting. Just played the demo and I'd say it plays a lot more like Feeding Frenzy...but way harder. Not sure I have the patience for this, but it's a cool game.

Not really a UFC fan and I've never heard of MMA, but Gears is always a good time. Can't wait for the next one. I've been playing a lot of Borderlands, but I have to take a break now and then because it's just so freakin' repetitive. I really like the Zombie Island DLC, but I'm still fairly bored with the game. I hate to say this because it's a good game and really funny, but I kinda can't wait to be done.

MMA is the sport as a whole, it stands for mixed martial arts.

I'm a big UFC fan but i tried the demo for the first game and it just felt really complicated. Granted it's a very complex sport and it's hard to get all the intricacies of the ground game and grappling right but I just didn't enjoy it as a game.
As for borderlands, i was waiting for a GOTY edition with all the DLC. Low and behold it's coming

Ah, okay, thanks. I don't follow sports, so I don't really know what most of the acronyms are. Heh.

Well, right now I'm currently going back through Alan Wake and getting all the achievements (since the DL content came out today it adds some stuff)
That game can get difficult at times, and I havent even started Nightmare mode...shudder.
But other than that I've been working on a second play through for Mass Effect 2 as a renegade. Mass Effect 2 is GoTY in my book so far with Red Dead and Alan Wake coming up as runners up. And im looking forward to the next one too

Oh yeah i forgot about this thread. The past couple of weeks I've been running through all 3 of the last gen GTAs on my pc. Sooo much better with mouse control. I also forgot that you couldn't free look in GTA3 and Vice City on PS2/Xbox until I booted up VC. I couldn't handle going back to those controls and immediately put it down and hunted down the PC versions lol

Right now it's Starcraft 2. I canceled my Xbox and WoW subscriptions just because I'm going to be playing this game dry. Once I beat single player it's on to playing the AI, then maybe trying out the map maker, and then some online multiplayer.

Yea Sports in general is like a religion in my family mainly Baseball lol but I'm spanish way to stereotype myself. But yea latly I've been getting more and more into MMA and UFC. Ive been a big UFC guy for years but now Im getting into the events in Japan and strikeforce which kinda sucks but hey its free on showtime Nothing beats the UFC thou.
Static yea the game is kinda complicated you have to put a lot of time into it to really get good with the controls etc but when you do its one of the most satisfying fighting games, too bad everyone on live is either Gods at the game or just plain quit when I'm about to win.
With that said I finally found a game to get me away from Gears 2 lol and that is Tales of Vesperia, Had my eye on it for a while after playing almost every other Tales game I finally bought it and this game should keep me busy as well as Oblivion with my files getting corrupt I'm starting all over but I love that game and never really finished it so that should also give me something to do on the side.

That sucks about your save files, but at least you have a good excuse to play more Oblivion. Heh. Man, I wish I could play Oblivion for the first time again. Whenever someone I know plays that for the first time, I get jealous because that first-time experience is fantastic. Going back and replaying it just isn't the same, you know? Not many games make me feel that way.
