Default Next Xbox announced at E3?

I have a hunch that Microsoft is going to announce the next Xbox at E3. Its been 4 1/2 years and I know the life cycles are getting longer, but still I wouldn't be surprised to hear it announced with a 2011 Xmas release.

I just saw it on Spike TV at E3 Live special going on earlier. Caught the last half of the X360 press conference, which ended with Kinect demoes and the unveiling of the new 360. Not a new Xbox but a new iteration of the 360 so it looks like they're planning a long life cycle this generation (which is good imo, Im not ready to buy a new console just yet).

Looks pretty cool. Supposed to be quieter, smaller, built in Wi-Fi, 250GB HD and "Kinect ready" whatever that means. Surprisingly, they said that it's shipping to retailers TODAY and that it'll be available for purchase by next week with the same $299 price tag. All very appealing but until my current 360 breaks (again) and they refuse to replace it for me, I'll be watching this on the sidelines.

I have (well had) 2 Xboxs. One we bought about a month after launch. The other MS sent to me. The one MS sent to me we have sent back twice. It broke again last week and we decided not to bother sending it back. Then this announcement comes out, so I'm glad we didn't bother. The launch one, though, still running fine.

Was the Gears 3 demo a gameplay demo? Those are the only ones Im interested in really. Pre-rendered trailers and stuff rarely get me pumped until I see the real thing in action.

I'm buying the new 360 later this week. The wifi and being whisper quiet just sold it to me. Anybody know how memory will be transferred to the new 360?

You don't transfer memory, but you can transfer your xbla account and then go online and use the transfer tool to transfer all the licenses for your games and then you can re-download all htat content with the download tool online. I'm not sure how saved games would work.

Alright, wonder how much I can get for trading in an arcade console with the wireless adapter and the 120gb HDD. God, don't really want to wait til the end of the week.

Depends where you sell it, gamestop you might get $80 for the system plus an extra $25 for a promotion there doing. Not sure about the HD and adapter. Or you can bundle it and put it on Ebay for $200 or so.

Probably Gamestop. They lowered the price of the arcade so that'll probably kill the trade in amount for it. Hopefully they have an upgrade promo or something. Plus, even though it isn't much, I get the 10% trade in bonus for the edge card and $25 for that promo you mentioned.

Although it would be cool, I wasn't really expecting anything of that nature. They seem to be quite set on the 10-year life cycle. Which I think is great because I can get a lot more life out of my 360 and when the next version comes out, it will be massively better.

I would only expect Nintendo to announce a new console, but that won't happen until the Wii stops selling.

Just a little tip, Amazon is "promising" that if you order from them they will have the console to your door by Thursday if you choose 1 day shipping. That's what I did and the total was $309. I'll be taking pictures and posting a semi-review of it when it gets here, so if you want to know something about it let me know.
